Kenan Stadium Equity Seating Plan

This is all we need in this economy!

Rams Club
In the coming days, active Rams Club members who have not yet purchased 2011 season football tickets will receive a paper season ticket application in the mail. As 2011 marks the initial implementation of the Kenan Stadium Equity Seating Plan, The Rams Club wants to remind all members about the new seating plan, and how it affects members' season ticket locations.
In order to select seats this spring, ticket orders must be made by April 15, 2011. In the days following the April 15th deadline, active Rams Club members with season ticket orders will be notified via mail and email of their appointment date and time. You will receive your notification well in advance of your appointment time.
The seat selection process will take place during a seven-week period in May and June. Donors with season ticket orders will be able to personally select seats through a user-friendly online system or in person at Kenan Stadium. Information on how to log in and use the online seat selection system will be mailed to active members in the next few weeks - and should give members plenty of time to become comfortable with this impressive system.
A Kenan Stadium Equity Seating Plan brochure was mailed to all active Rams Club members in the summer of 2010. The brochure is also available online at  www.ramsclub.com/seatingplan.  Below is a review of the Equity Seating Plan. The Rams Club encourages all members with season tickets to become familiar with the new seating plan. Please call The Rams Club at 919-843-2000 if you have questions, or email The Rams Club at ramsclub@unc.edu.

Rams Club donors provide the valuable foundation of support so important to the success of Carolina Athletics.  The Rams Club seeks to strengthen that foundation while recognizing the loyalty of Rams Club members.  Part of that effort is detailed in the Kenan Stadium Equity Seating Plan.
The Kenan Stadium Equity Seating Plan will change the seating policies at Kenan Stadium beginning with the 2011 football season.  The changes are based upon three guiding principles: fairness, loyalty and recognition of the impact your gifts have on Carolina Athletics.
The new plan utilizes well-known systems to members -- the Priority Point System, current giving levels and existent priority ticket allowances.  In addition, the plan offers new elements such as the one-time Loyalty Reward (points awarded for past season ticket purchases) and the ability for members to select their own seats online or in person.
The Kenan Stadium Equity Seating Plan offers a significant change -- a change that allows The Rams Club to recognize our members equitably while encouraging future growth in the support of our athletics program and student-athlete scholarship fund.
CHANGE ... NOW IS THE TIME TO MEET THE CHALLENGES FACING CAROLINA ATHLETICS
CHANGE IS DIFFICULT. Carolina Athletics faces significant financial challenges that make change necessary. This plan offers flexibility that helps Carolina address these challenges. The Equity Seating Plan is the result of a multi-year process of research and planning. It utilizes three guiding principles to recognize the support of Rams Club members.
#1 GUIDING PRINCIPLE - Exhibit Fairness
Tar Heel fans offer support with their voices on game day, and with their years of generous giving      through The Rams Club. In return, the donors should expect great effort on the field, and an equitable assignment of seats in the stadium.
The movement of many fans to the new Blue Zone in 2011 coincides with Carolina's need to address financial challenges-and makes now an ideal time to address the fairness in seating at Kenan Stadium. The Carolina Football Equity Seating Plan seeks to ensure that Rams Club members sit in seats consistent with their level of support. In addition to establishing seat assignments based on support and loyalty factors, the new plan creates opportunities for a member to improve seat locations over time.
#2 GUIDING PRINCIPLE - Reward Loyalty
Carolina enjoys the support of some of the most loyal and dedicated fans in college athletics. Be it through years of giving to The Rams Club, or through years of cheering on Tar Heel teams from the stands, Carolina supporters make a difference in the lives of our student-athletes.
As part of the new Kenan Stadium Equity Seating Plan, active Rams Club members will be rewarded for their support through a Loyalty Reward-a one-time bonus of membership points for past season ticket purchases. This reward is recognition of the important role loyal Tar Heels play for Carolina.
#3 GUIDING PRINCIPLE - Recognize the Impact of Donations
Significant increases in operations, scholarships, student-athlete services and other expenses present challenges for Carolina that require flexibility to fund. Rams Club members continue to step forward to help meet our challenges, and deserve recognition.
The Equity Seating Plan acknowledges the impact of giving by:
  • Rewarding donors based upon not just a single gift, but a lifetime of giving.
  • Rewarding donors by seating them based upon rank-determined not just by contributions but by years of membership and a one-time reward for years of season ticket purchases.
  • Continuing to emphasize the importance of supporting excellence through our broad-based program of 28 varsity sports at Carolina.
