Part A:
I wrote the info on in Part B after Duke beat us in the ACC in March, and today I learned
- Dean has a winning record of 16-13 after Coach K became "great," and 24-14 overall.
- Dean Smith was 59-35 vs. Duke and 24-14 vs. Krzyzewski, winning 8 of the last 9 match ups before retiring in 1997.
- Mike Krzyzewski is 36-36 vs. North Carolina. He was 13-4 vs. Smith's immediate successors (Bill Guthridge (1998–2000) and Matt Doherty (2000–2003)).
- Roy Williams is 8-9 vs. Duke as head coach of North Carolina. Williams was 1-3 against Duke as head coach of Kansas.

Part B:
Coach K has been gracious and complimentary about breaking Dean Smith's record, and the best thing about this is that someone will catch that Bobby Knight before long .
We know UNC leads Duke over the years in competition -
- basketball 131-100, (133-105)
- football 57-37-4, (2013: 58-38-4)
- Baseball 173-93 3,
- Carlyle Cup 6-3.
>If UNC never wins another game, it will take - about 14 years for Duke to catch up in Basketball,
- 19 years in football,
- 27 years in Baseball,
- and 3 years in Carlyle cup.
